In2Assets and Old Johannesburg Warehouse will be jointly hosting the auction of a sought-after collection of artworks at the Makaranga Lodge, in Kloof, KwaZulu-Natal, on May 6 at 12h00.
Makaranga Garden Lodge, previously Fern Valley Estate, was bought by Dana and Chick Flack in the early 2000s. The Flack family have created a landscaping masterpiece accompanied by a luxurious lodge set on 30 acres.
What has set Makaranga Lodge apart is its highly-regarded collection of contemporary artworks. These pieces have been collected over a lifetime from around the world and include sculptures and paintings from some of South Africa’s most celebrated artists as well as renowned Zimbabwean sculptures and works from many international artists.
The artwork will form part of a 337-lot auction, which is sure to generate both national and international interest.
The property has already been sold by In2Assets to a private investor.
The auction will take place onsite at Makaranga Garden Lodge, however, online bidding facilities are also available. Pre-auction bidding has already commenced.
