Boutique Hotels going under the In2assets gavel

In2assets has opportunities for investors with the auction of two hospitality properties on October 20 at 11am.


The first is the boutique hotel Makaranga Lodge at 1a Igwababa Road, Kloof, in a tranquil setting approximately 25km north west of Durban Central.

The property forms part of an upmarket node in Kloof characterised by well-established residential suburbs and enjoys access to all amenities including the Kloof Country Club, shopping centres and schools.

Set on approximately 12 hectares, and behind private gates, the Makaranga Lodge offers luxury accommodation, restaurant and conference facilities. The property has been run as a successful hotel for a number of years and is one of a few national hospitality establishments with Universal Accessibility grading (UA).

Access is obtained off Igwababa Road via manned security and electric boom gates onto tarred parking areas. 

There is a covered drop-off zone outside the main reception area, featuring spectacular greenery and koi ponds. The reception area leads to a lounge and open patio, fully-equipped kitchen and restaurant, wine cellar, deli and bar areas which open out onto outdoor decks overlooking the grounds and swimming pool area. 

The main lodge comprises a single-storey block with 11 en-suite bedrooms. Four of the bedrooms can be utilised as family rooms as they have interleading doors. 

The west wing block is a double-storey block with 12 spacious en-suite bedrooms. All bedrooms consist of superior fixtures and fittings, and open out to balconies with a view of the gardens. 

Additionally, the property has three separate cottages and a wellness centre, as well as staff accommodation and a workshop. 

The second property is a six-hectare boutique hotel in Centurion.

Located in the Rhenosterspruit Conservancy and on the banks of the Hennops River, the hotel is just 30 minutes from Sandton and features six executive suites and two presidential suites with large bathrooms.

It also features two conference halls, a spa and large restaurant. Zoning rights will allow for a further 50 to 70 rooms to be built on the property.
