In a landmark transaction valued at R104 million, the renowned Oubaai Golf Resort, Hotel, and Spa, located in Heroldsbay near George, has been successfully acquired by a prominent private equity firm based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The buyer, boasting extensive global interests in Real Estate, Leisure, Technology, Digital Marketing, and Industrial sectors, marks a significant investment in South Africa's hospitality and leisure industry.
The sale was facilitated by In2assets, a leading property firm in the country, with Hein Hattingh, Managing Director at In2assets, spearheading the negotiations. Hattingh revealed that the R104 million deal was executed as a going concern, emphasizing the strategic vision the buyer holds for Oubaai's future. The buyer, who was present in person to finalize the acquisition, is no stranger to the world of golf and hospitality.
The firm owns, among other notable properties, the world-famous Abu Dhabi Golf Club, a world-class facility renowned for hosting the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championships on the DP World Golf Tour.
