Fine Art Auction South African Wildlife Conservation

South Africa’s national property company In2Assets is proud to join the war against the poaching and trafficking of South Africa’s most rare and endangered wildlife.

Our involvement in assisting with the protection of these animals comes in the form of conducting a fundraising auction for The Boucher Legacy.

The Boucher Legacy was founded in 2011 and, as per their website, their three priorities are the tracking and protection of rhino, African wild dog, and pangolin across South Africa. The rhino tracking and protection program includes growing a DNA database, collaring, tracking, and dehorning, as well as orphan support. The African wild dog program includes collaring, tracking, snare removal, distempering, and rabies check-ups. The pangolin project includes the rehabilitation and release into the wild and telemetry.

In an effort to generate the funds required to run these projects, The Boucher Legacy in association with The Platform Gallery created the Art for Conservation Auction. The FarSide Farm in Nottingham Road played host to the inaugural auction in 2022 which was a resounding success. This year’s auction at the same venue promises to surpass all expectations with a myriad of incredible artwork for sale. The event includes a fine dining experience with top quality local wines as well as live music after the auction. The collection of almost fifty fine art pieces by some of South Africa’s most talented artists will be offered at this prestigious event. Online partners Icily provide a sophisticated and easy to use bidding platform for interested parties from anywhere in the world through their state-of-the-art technology while livestreaming the auction event at the same time.

The art auction will be conducted by Tom Hodgson and Andrew Miller of In2Assets Property Specialists. Hodgson states, “we are tremendously proud to be associated with an occasion of such magnitude and importance as this. Awareness is key to curbing the dire threats facing our endangered wildlife and we have a responsibility as South Africans towards protecting these incredible animals. Initiatives such as this auction help generate awareness as well as the much-needed funds required to finance the fight against poaching. When first presented with this opportunity by Ally Hewitt from the Boucher Legacy in 2021 we were humbled by it. To be able to contribute to such a cause and initiative by offering our auction skill set and knowledge is a privilege. As an auctioneer it is always so exciting when you get an opportunity to offer master pieces of art by some of the very best artists in South Africa and to facilitate the bidding process on these hugely desired unique pieces knowing that we are raising much needed funds for the various Boucher Legacy projects is fantastic. If last year was anything to go by, we can expect another wonderful auction” end’s Hodgson his announcement.

If Art and Conservation are of interest to you then this is one auction you simply must attend.
