In2assets will be auctioning a hotel and conference centre in Stellenbosch on April 25 at 11am. This exciting development opportunity, currently the African Leisure Hotel Stellenbosch, is on R310 Helshoogte Road, nestled at the base of Botmaskop.

Set upon approximately six hectares of prime land, with promising opportunities for additional development, this property epitomises sophistication and potential.

Beyond its current primary role in the hospitality sector, African Leisure Hotel Stellenbosch presents a number of development prospects, ranging from a much-needed medical step-down facility to residential sectional title developments.

Surrounded by renowned towns such as Franschhoek, Somerset West, and Paarl, the region beckons travellers to explore its rich cultural heritage, world-class attractions and culinary delights.

The area is well-known for its prestigious university and acclaimed wine farms.

Initially developed as a hotel, with certain sections awaiting completion, this establishment already features operational spaces including conference rooms, an elegant entrance lobby, a cosy lounge, and a selection of 18 beautifully designed rooms.

There are 12 deluxe rooms and six executive family suites. Each room features king-size beds and the deluxe rooms offer a separate lounge area, complete with a sleeper couch for additional sleeping arrangements if required.

Each suite features a luxurious bathroom with a walk-in shower, a bathtub, and access to a charming, enclosed garden.

The deluxe rooms offer similar flexibility and additional amenities such as a lounge corner, study nook, and small kitchenette.

The unfinished spaces have great potential and include a restaurant and banqueting facility, with views of the surrounding vineyards, valley, and mountains. The spacious kitchen is primed for outfitting and features all necessary connections for seamless functionality. Additionally, there are six more rooms, a basement cellar, and extra function rooms.

With potential for further development outlined in the Visual Impact Assessment Report, there is the possibility of three additional phases, comprising a total of 64 units, including short-stay accommodations and luxurious three-bedroom units, as well as a spa building.
