This 283.1258 Hectare Cemetery Site is already approved for 500 000 burial sites. There is a lack of burial space in the eThekwini Municipality District. Natural burial is the tradition and culture of majority of the population in KZN. Any development within and surrounding the site will have an impact in further development opportunities in the area as well as creating short term and long-term employment. The site is topographically favourable.
300 000 Burial Sites of the 500 000 are ready to be used, approved by the Municipality. This 300 000 occupies approximately 67.4 hectares of the 283 hectares. As such the remaining 216 hectares allows for other developments for the cemetery. All studies such as geotechnical, geohydrological, ecological, environmental and flood line studies have been undertaken, approved and considers the site as favourable. Water & Sanitation Department of eThekwini Municipality and Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Department have no objections to the site being used as a Cemetery.
The site is position approximately 32km inland from Scottburgh or approximately 40km from the Park Rynie Umzinto off ramp. On route to the site and surrounding the site are plenty of small townships. The site has easy access from the N2 Freeway and R612 Main Road.

Directions from Durban: Travel south from Durban for approximately 56km to Park Rynie / Umzinto. Take the exit 104 / R612 Umzinto North / Park Rynie / R102 Pennington. Turn right and go over the N2 Freeway (towards in land). Travel on the R612 Main road for approximately 28km to Sawoti. At Sawoti, turn right towards Dududu. On this road travel for approximately 7km to the site.
